The Grace of God

O Holy Night! God's stars were brightly shining this Friday night at our Young Adults evening as He worked so beautifully and boldly in our hearts as we welcomed new friends, shared home cooked meals, laughed together, prayed together, listened to the spirit, reflected and spoke bravely of personal testimonies and profound moments (especially the little moments) in our relationship with God. He transforms our ordinary into the extraordinary everyday - it is up to us to say yes to his invitation of love! As Lamentations 3:22 says, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness." A special farewell to our lovely, smiling Gizella who has blessed us with her beautiful singing voice at St Columba. Soon she will be heading home to Timor Leste and so we pray that God protects her on her travels home and watches over her, showering her with many blessings on her new adventures! As the young adults reflected on the "Grace to Change" - our Parish community's theme for this Advent season, let us reflect today on the grace to change our hearts - to be more open to the everyday surprises of God. Just as we were surprised by the full house of young adults who came as strangers in one sense, but as brothers and sisters in their hearts bearing fruit to a transformative night in Christ - let us be transformed by the possibilities of each day, living not only in the present, but for the presence of God who is with us always. Where do you see the graces of God in your life? What graces would you like to ask God for? "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Lk 11:9. Thank you for everyone's prayers and support this year with the young adults. Just look at the miracles we have been blessed with! "For in him we live and move and have our being" Acts 17:28. We look forward to our Christmas party and exciting plans for the New Year. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us! 🕊 💕
